OuranoOS (com.empoorio.ouranoos) is the ecosystem's encrypted storage: you upload files and only you can read them, because they are encrypted on your phone before they leave it.
The data controller is Empoorio (https://empoorio.org). This policy covers the OuranoOS Android app published on Google Play as com.empoorio.ouranoos. It does not cover the other apps in the ecosystem, each of which has its own. For any privacy matter: legal@empoorio.org.
You can sign in with your Google account to identify yourself. The key your files are encrypted with is a different thing and stays on your phone: we do not have it, so we cannot read your files or recover them if you lose the key.
Files are encrypted on the phone and stored already encrypted. What the service sees is an encrypted blob and its size, not its content or its name. Storage billing is recorded on EmpoorioChain by bytes: the chain holds how much space you use and what you pay, never what you store.
So you can choose what to upload and save what you download. The app only touches the files you pick.
To upload a photo taken on the spot, without going through the gallery.
To unlock the app with the phone's fingerprint or face. Android does the check.
• It cannot read your files: it does not have the key. • No third-party analytics. • It does not ask for your location or your contacts. • It does not sell or share data.
The Google Play listing shows the permissions the app declares. The ones actually used are explained above. The listing also shows the microphone. They are declared in the app without its code using them: they collect nothing, and we are removing them release by release. We say so here because we would rather you knew than found it in the permission list.
You can delete your files from the app and request account deletion at legal@empoorio.org. What is already paid and recorded on the chain cannot be deleted from it.
