Mid-Year 2026: What Was Built by June, and What June Did Not Know Yet

Built by the solstice

  • EmpoorioLM: training pipeline complete (phases 0–8, 20 May), the 25M model training, train → serve validated.
  • The gate: mainnet blocked behind six written gates (30 May). Threat model, bridge evaluation, incident playbooks written (29 May).
  • A benchmark: 700 mixed transactions, 0 % failures, finality p50 17 s (30 May), labelled not a mainnet claim.
  • Aephoron desktop: 350+ tasks, 19 crates, clean compile (14 June).
  • SynoodoS: core, chat widget, 135 tests (30 June). Ouranoos: mocks removed (30 June).
  • Creator Studio: 46 protocols indexed against pallets (1 June).
  • Website sale flow: real contract ABI, countdown, E2E tests (9 June).
  • Apps in production: GnoosiS, Eoonia, Eats, Manager, Riders, Warehouse.

What June believed that turned out wrong

June's document saidThe second half found
Three validators in three AWS regionsTwo, one data centre; the three were template data (5 Sep)
The wrapped DMS on Sepolia is redeemable via the bridgeEscrow zero; represents nothing (31 Aug)
The chain's DeFi pallets are functionalThe DEX could not settle a swap — no treasury account (14 Sep)
Ailoos node roles run every 60 sThey were never started (5 Sep)
Mobile training fine-tunes EmpoorioLMThe artefact had random weights (8 Sep)
The testnet is usable by clientsNo client encoded the envelope; 102,912 blocks with no signed tx (7 Sep)
DMS reference price $1.00 (in the benchmark's cost table)$0.65 canonical
Six decimals (some docs)Eighteen
"21/21 pallets, 100 % coverage" (explorer)~14 % of 143

What that list means

Not that the first half was wasted — the pipeline, the gate, the benchmark, the browser and the studio were real work and are still the foundation. It means that documented and verified were different states, and the ecosystem did not yet have the habit of checking one against the other. The second half of 2026 was that habit being formed: audits that executed, scripts that could fail, headers that said when a document was last run against a node.

Reasons to be excited for the next half

The page this replaces listed them for another ecosystem. This one lists the unchecked boxes: external validators, the first on-chain order, the first reward payout, a deployed identity service, a published SDK, a working explorer, a faucet, the remaining upgrade rehearsals. Each is a receipt waiting to be issued.

Reconstructed from documents dated April–June 2026 and the audits of August–September.
