A payments chain without merchants is a demo. Empoorio built the merchant, courier and customer apps first — they have users in Spain today — and is connecting EmpoorioChain underneath them so that what they already do settles on one ledger with rules the ledger enforces. The first on-chain order will be reported with its block number.
