OmilooS: Solar Telemetry and a Mesh Network, Rewarded On Chain

Decentralised physical infrastructure — DePIN — is the genre where a chain pays people for running hardware. OmilooS is the Empoorio ecosystem's entry: solar-inverter telemetry and a low-power mesh, with the settlement layer in EmpoorioChain's IoT pallet suite. This post is what exists.

Two functions, one app

Solar telemetry. OmilooS connects to a solar inverter over Modbus (the industrial protocol most inverters speak), reads generation and status, and reports it. A registered device's readings can be attested and rewarded through pallet-solar-generation.

Mesh networking. Where there is no internet, OmilooS devices form a Bluetooth LE / LoRa mesh and relay each other's traffic. Relaying is work; pallet-proof-of-relay and pallet-mesh-rewards are designed to prove it and pay for it.

The chain side

The IoT suite (runtime indexes 102–107) is wired into the live runtime, with a documented dependency graph:

pallet-device-registry is the root: a device must be registered (with optional hardware attestation) before its telemetry counts or its relays earn. Some trait providers — the solar data oracle, the energy price oracle — are wired to () in the runtime, meaning deferred; the architecture document says so and names the replacement.

Status

  • App: com.empoorio.omiloos, internal testing on Google Play (version 2 published to testers). The store listing was completed in August 2026; the English listing contradicted the Spanish one on features (OTA updates, mesh, P2P) and was corrected.
  • Telemetry: Modbus reading implemented.
  • Mesh: BLE/LoRa implemented; P2P message signing still falls back to a mock in the current build. That is the honest gap.
  • On-chain reporting: pallets ready; first attested reading from a real inverter on the public testnet not yet recorded.
  • Hardware requirement: a compatible inverter and, for LoRa, a radio. OmilooS is not useful without them, and the listing says so.

Why this matters beyond solar

The device registry is shared infrastructure. An Ailoos phone, a Ouranoos storage node and an OmilooS inverter gateway can all be registered devices with the same attestation model, and pallet-carbon-credits sits one step downstream of attested clean generation. The IoT suite is where the ecosystem's physical world meets its ledger — small today, wired correctly.

What this page will not claim

A network of thousands of hotspots, a telecom partnership, or a migration from another chain. Those were the previous page's claims and they were another project's. OmilooS is an app in internal testing, a mesh with a mock signature, and six pallets waiting for their first device.
