The commitment
A support channel available 24/7 for the 48 hours of the event, staffed by the core team. Announcements in a separate channel. That is the plan's entire community infrastructure for the event.
What the channel is for
- Codec errors (the signed extensions, nine times out of ten).
- "Is the node down?" (the rate limit, nine times out of ten).
- Which pallet does X; what an event is called; where a storage item lives.
- Test DMS requests, since there is no faucet.
- Reporting a gap — which is a contribution, not a complaint.
What it is not
- A place to negotiate prizes or eligibility.
- Guaranteed uptime (see the infrastructure post).
- A general community forum. The ecosystem does not currently run one; older documentation named forum and Stack-Exchange-style hosts that never existed.
Questions become documentation
Every question asked twice becomes an entry in the developer FAQ — which does not exist yet, and whose absence is itself a finding of the September documentation audit (168 pages written, 19 reachable, no FAQ for builders). The hackathon's support log is the cheapest way to write it: real questions from real first-time users, answered once in the channel and once in the docs.
Why 48 hours and not always-on
Because the team is small and honest about it. An always-on channel that is answered in office hours is a channel that disappoints at 2 a.m. A 48-hour commitment is one the team can keep, and the FAQ it produces is what serves the 2 a.m. developer afterwards.
Before the event
The repository's issues are the support channel today. A gap with a reproduction filed there gets the same treatment: fixed or documented, with the finding recorded. The chain's most productive external contributions so far have been exactly that shape.
The tour this page announced
Was a series of hacker houses across Europe for another ecosystem. EmpoorioChain's team is in one city and will be in one channel for one weekend. It will answer.
Based on TESTNET_HACKATHON_PLAN.md §5 and the September 2026 documentation audit.
